All things great and small

Another part of my personality is enjoying organising the little details at events.  I had the joy of organising a friends baby shower.

I got to work on the favours first, using the gorgeous little wood crate framelit die.  I some powder pink card stock with flowers from the matching wood words stamp set and filled it with treats including a mini jam, mini biscuits and a paper tea bag that I filled with an actual teabag.  Popped some cellophane around and finish with a bow.

The rhyme on the tag I made up myself! It reads: "Here is a treat for being so sweet.  To have with your cuppa tea, while we wait in expectancy" The tag punch came in handy to finish these off.
I adapted a tutorial to make a shallow box so that it could be filled with prayers for the new family and wishes for baby.  I used matching DSP (designer series paper) to go with the favours.

This last picture is a nappy baby! Some may find it sweet... some may find it creepy?  Thankfully the pregnant friend liked it! It is a baby grow filled with nappies to give the impression of a sleeping baby. Well I thought it was sweet...

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas...

Oooh you know when you have an idea, you test it... and it works... Well here it is!
Embossing paste to create a snow scene.

Puts a different stance on you traditional shaker card.  The more the paste is moved around the 'looser' and more malleable it becomes.  "Such fun!"  Great for kids and adults alike.

Using the lovely new Hearts come Home stamp set for the stars teamed up with the matching dies 'Hometown greetings Edgelits dies' which- is you buy now you can get as a bundle and get that 10% off!
Watch the video now of how it was made:

Making Oh So Eclectic into Poppies

With this colder weather here in the UK I am already starting to feel autumnal!  I thought I would load this video of an idea I came up with after playing with the Oh So Eclectic stamp set.  Looking at the shape got my mind thinking about poppies, a quick google search helped me to look at the most realistic colours to use for each poppy.  I was amazed how this simple technique could create great effects.

Wacth the video to find out the colour combinations.  I am happy for my cards to be cased; all I ask is for acknowledgement especially if it is going out on social media, many thanks!

My inspiration was the classic red Poppy and the Canadian yellow orange Poppy
and those other lovely purple and pink ones!
